Overview
Bakers Basket, a local bakery specializing in traditional Indian cookies, sought packaging designs for their Shrewsbury, atta, pista, and nankhatai varieties. The client envisioned doily paper element with the product name on the front and a corresponding cookie image on the side. A color scheme of pink and beige for Shrewsbury, brown and beige for atta, pista green and beige for pista, and yellow and beige for nankhatai was specified to reflect the uniqueness of each cookie.
Key Learnings
This project demonstrated that packaging design can honor tradition and still look unified. Using consistent layout elements, such as the doily motif, helped connect different product versions, while color made each one stand out. Choosing unique color palettes showed how color helps shoppers recognize and select products on the shelf. The experience also showed how important it is to balance client input with clear design, so the packaging feels both familiar and organized.
