Overview
GMC, a manufacturer of exhaust fans, sought packaging designs that would effectively showcase their products and appeal to consumers. The client envisioned a packaging design featuring a wave-like pattern emanating from the back of the fan and continuing to the side, with a repeated fan image on the opposite side. A blue color scheme was specified to create a clean and modern aesthetic.
Key Learnings
This project taught me how to make functional products feel visually engaging through packaging. Using the wave pattern to suggest airflow helped connect the design to the product’s purpose, while the repeated fan image reinforced recognition. Working with a clean blue palette showed how color can communicate modernity and reliability. It also emphasized the importance of balancing visual appeal with clarity so the packaging stays informative and easy to understand.
